Romantic Weekend in Monterey

This time Jim and I took off in the sports car to take some pictures and relax. I've been working on cards to support the principals in the book (Walk In Your Own Footsteps www.wiyof.com) and wanted just a couple of new ones to round things out. That was the perfect excuse to take off for a weekend. We had a nice dinner on the Warf in Monterey, then took some great photos. I found a woman taking photos of her family so I handed off the "good" camera for this shot.
While it was cool, the sky remained pretty clear so I got some good shots. :) We stayed in a darling place in Carmel but I can't recommend it because the heater was stuck at 80 degrees and the toilet would only flush two tissues at a time! It pretty much rained like crazy on Sunday, so we visited a favorite place in Santa Cruz then headed home. We stopped at Crepe Danielle in Saratoga and had a WONDERFUL meal. I wanted good coffee and a nice place to hang out before we headed home and I got it! The food was so good that we had a little debate over who's crepe was tastier!

Planning our first adventure!

Well the cleaning went pretty well. For having been left on a vacant piece of land for about 3 years, its really not that bad. It may not be the trailer we're dreaming of, but it'll get us out there on our first adventure!

As a matter of fact, I can really see me in this camper! So, the question is... do we go up the mountain to South Lake Tahoe, or across the valley to the ocean? I'm up for either! this is gonna be fun! Pictures to come. :)

Cleaning Day

Our little camper has been sitting on a vacant peice of property Jim owns in Georgetown, California for a few years! So, clean up will be an adventure in itself! First, we set off a bug bomb to evict the current residents, now it's time to remove their tiny bodies. I'll post before and after pics when I'm finished. Hopefully, you'll be able to tell a big differnce.

scaled down adventure

We've decided to start small and take our tiny "pop-up" camper on a trip for our first outing. Should be fun. :) Good thing my sweetie and I enjoy being cozy! First, it's clean-up, gathering supplies, and planning. Then we'll hit the Crystal Basin Recreation Area in the Northern Sierras. Photos to come. :)

Searching for the Perfect Travel Trailer for us

Jim and I are so excited about our new adventure! So far, we're still looking for the perfect trailer. Jim is gonna put the special brakes on the truck so that when we find out trailer, we can take it home. We both like cozy spaces so our trailer will be between 13 and 19 feet long. Searching the market (mostly Craigslist) has proven very frustrating. People lie like rugs to those that inqure. It's sad. They'll lie right to your face, arghhhh.

Anyway, we press on, checking the listings and still hopefully excited about the process. Open road, here we come! I can't wait to be snuggling in our cozy trailer or sitting out under a tree enjoying the quiet.

We're looking for a trailer big enough for the kids to come along, so that'll be fun, also. Hiking, smores, bbqs. Woo hoo!
