A wonderful trip among the lakes of the Sierras

We started our trip today at South Lake Tahoe. The cool thing is we were together, which is always fun. And... I spotted a bald eagle above the lake and that was awsome. We also checked out a nice place to camp and had a great lunch. Here's a pic taken from an overlook by Emerald Bay.

The down side was the awful traffic! Ugh! We just sat for long periods of time in line with other cars just to get around the lake.

Then we went to down 89 toward 88 and stopped at Silver Lake! That was just a beautiful, much cooler, and fewer people. Here's a pic of Jim by Silver Lake. Check it out if you haven't. It's just very nice and so are the people at the little resort at the south end of the lake.
